Johnson also served as chief of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. In Ames, he is especially remembered as the co-creator of the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University.\nCurt Meine, conservation biologist and editor of We Can Do Better will discuss and read from the book. A panel of guests will explore Johnson’s legacy and the relevance of his writings for today’s conservation and agricultural policies.\nBooks will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Dog-Eared Books.\nPresented by Ames Public Library, Iowa Center for the Book, the Johnson Center for Land Stewardship Policy, the Aldo Leopold Foundation, and Dog-Eared Books.\n\n\n
