September 18, 2019 (Ames, Iowa) — Iowans are encouraged to travel to, and dine in, Main Street Iowa communities across the state during Main Street Iowa Restaurant Week, September 20-29.
Small businesses are the heart and soul of Iowa’s economy. In fact, Iowa ranks sixth nationally in Main Street entrepreneurship. From unique shopping options to historical attractions, Main Street Iowa communities contribute to Iowa’s economic vitality and quality of life. Enjoying scrumptious fare offered by local eateries in one of Iowa’s 54 Main Street Iowa districts during the upcoming Restaurant Week is an excellent opportunity to support local businesses.
Main Street Iowa eateries offer a broad range of dining experiences, including best burgers, award-winning barbeque, global cuisine and food truck vendors.
In Ames, community diners will have the opportunity to visit downtown restaurants and bars featuring special prices and menu items. Punch cards will be available and patrons who dine at five of the participating locations will be entered to win a prize!
Participating businesses include The Angry Irishmen, Aunt Maude’s, Bar la Tosca, Cafe Diem, Chocolaterie Stam, Cooks’ Emporium, Cornbred Barbecue, Della Viti Ames, Great Harvest Bakery and Cafe, Great Plains Sauce and Dough Company, Little Woods Herbs & Teas, London Underground, Mel’s Sweet Occasions, Smiles Food Carts, Torrent Brewing Company, Wheatsfield Cooperative, and Whiskey River.
