Snow Magic Kick Off Activities

• Santa will be in town! You can visit Santa at Duck Worth Wearing from 5pm-8pm
• Ready to write your letter to Santa? Visit Octagon Center for the Art and you can write a letter to Santa! Fill out the envelope and who knows, Santa might just write you back!
• Visit not one, but TWO fresh ice carvings in Tom Evans Park! Our artist will sculpt these during the day to have a fun surprise for you during the event.
• Looking to spread some extra cheer? You can visit Buddy the Elf at Dog-Eared Books!
• Downtown Ames is ready for some winter magic! Participating businesses will have their windows decorated for the season. Scan the QR code outside of their display and help the businesses win bragging rights for the winter season!

Snow Magic StoryWalk®

December 5th – 31st

• Start at Ames Public Library and find the pages of Big Snow by Jonathan Bean in windows of downtown businesses.
• As you walk, you’ll read the story of a boy dreaming for a really big snow as he “helps” his mom with tasks at home.
• The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
